כל העמים וראו מכאבי בתולתי ובחורי הלכו בשבי...	Hear, all you peoples, and behold my agony: my maidens and my youths have gone into captivity…
קדוש ונורא, הושיעה נא. רחום וחנון, הצליחה נא. שומר הברית, עננו ביום קראנו!
כי איככה אוכל וראיתי ברעה אשר ימצא את עמי	For how can I endure and see the evil that shall befall my people?

אלקי הרוחות, הושיעה נא. בוחן לבבות, הצליחה נא. גואל חזק, עננו ביום קראנו!
חשך משחור תארם לא נכרו בחוצות צפד עורם על עצמם יבש היה כעץ...	Now their faces are blacker than soot, they are not recognized in the streets. Their skin has shrivelled on their bones, it has become dry as wood…
יש רעה אשר ראיתי תחת השמש ורבה היא על האדם	There is an evil I have observed under the sun, and a grave one it is for man
יודע מחשבות הושיעה נא, כביר כח הצליחה נא לובש צדקות עננו ביום קראנו!
נשים בציון ענו בתלת בערי יהודה שרים בידם נתלו פני זקנים לא נהדרו...	They have violated women in Zion, maidens in the towns of Judah. Princes have been hanged by them; no respect shown to elders…
שלח ידיך ממרום פצני והצילני ממים רבים מיד בני נכר	Reach Your hand down from on high; rescue me, save me from the mighty waters, from the hands of foreigners
כל נקמתם כל מחשבתם לי...	All their malice, all their designs against me…
קדוש ונורא, הושיעה נא!
ואיככה אוכל וראיתי באבדן מולדתי	And how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?

עוזר דלים, הושיעה נא. פודה ומציל, הצליחה נא. צור עולמים, עננו ביום קראנו!
